Shortly before 2:30 AM, I finished my Home for Christmas piece. Boy, does this feel splendid. It has been quite some time since I finished a large project like this. Now I need to decide on the wording for my signature. After a quick wash and ironing, I will attach the beads. Hopefully, I have a couple of mats in my stash so I can cut them and get this piece in to be framed.Back in 2000, I borrowed this booklet from my grandaunt. I intended to make one of the other patterns but knew my mother in law would love to have this piece. She has always loved bird and this sweet little guy was perfect. Just over eighteen months ago, she passed away and that is what motivated me to finish this piece. I am not sure I ever told her that I was making this for her. I know that she would have wanted Don and I to enjoy it after she was gone so we will do just that. It will also remind me of the sweet and gentle lady that I loved as my mother in law.
Pattern: Rain Drop (now Stoney Creek) book 11, Peace on Earth. I believe that my fabric is 28 ct Waterlily.
