A new cross stitch project

It may have been 105 degrees today and no electricity but that did not stop me from starting another cross stitch project. Last year a bunch of the gals from the Bent Creek Yahoo! Group said it would be fun to do a stitch a long (SAL) for the Drawn Thread's Sampler Gameboard. Since I had made the New Year's resolution not to start a new project without completing a WIP, I did not start on February 1st like most of the other gals did. There was such a big interest in the SAL, Milly started a new group just for the Sampler Gameboard. Luckily many of the stitchers are still stitching on their pieces, so I will still have others to help cheer me on to finishing this piece.

I am stitching my piece using Belfast (32 count) Raw linen. I decided to use Rainbow Gallery's Splendor silk floss instead of DMC floss. I was not aware of any conversions for these two flosses so I had to spend an hour or so matching the Splendor to DMC. A couple of the colors are not as close as I would like but I think they will work nicely.
