This weekend was another road trip for Sadie Jo and Cash and their first
motel stay. As soon as they see their doggie harness, they start dancing and squirming all around us. If Sadie Jo is really excited, then she will start singing. As soon as you call Sadie Jo over to put her doggie harness on, she settles down. Cash on the other hand is quite wild. I told Don that it is like putting clothes on a toddler. He loves to flop on the floor then roll onto his back while kicking and flaying all over the floor. I call it the fish out of water dance. The excitement ends after we leave town and they settle for a short snooze. We know when Cash is really relaxed because Sadie Jo starts to growl as he encroaches on her side of the backseat. When we look back to see what is going on, she gives us the most pitiful look that she can muster up.
During this trip they played Frisbee at some great spots like the a park along the Columbia River and the front lawn of my junior high school plus my grandparents lawn that was covered in leaves. The fun did not end there...Sadie Jo and Cash were quite surprised when we lead them into a motel room. At first they were not too sure what was going on until we brought in our bags. Yes, Sadie Jo and Cash have their own bag, which included chew bones, cow toes and a couple of their favorite toys. Cash settled in first by checking out the bed. Sadie Jo did not relax until her daddy took off his boots and picked up the remote control for the TV. I was worried they would be fussy all night and want to keep going outside to explore. Thank goodness that did not happen since it was just above freezing at 6 AM.
