January Turtle Trot Post

Once again it is Turtle Trot posting time.  What is a Turtle Trot, you say?  Well, I find it a great way to tackle several counted cross stitch project throughout the year.  At the first of the year, you pick out 10 projects and post your stitching progress on these projects on the 10th of each month.  For the more ambitious you can select 14 since it is 2014.  The exact rules can be found on Claudette’s (BAP Attack’s) 2014 Turtle Trot page.  Besides the rules, you will find the links to all the stitchers who are participating in 2014.  To the right is a turtle that I quilted on a quilt here recently.  I thought it would be a great representative for my Turtle Trot.

With this being my second year, you would think that I would be able to get my post done on time.  Oh no, I fell off the stitching wagon last year so I am playing catch-up.  After joining the group last year, I started all hot and fizzled out as soon as it was warmed up enough for yardwork and camping.  I tried taking my stitching camping but found I was spending most of my time cooking, eating and visiting by the campfire at night.  Oh yes, it rained quite a bit last year when we were camping.  So we huddled under the awning too.

Oh yes, this post is supposed to be my January Turtle Trot post.  I knew that some of my project had a bit more stitching done on them since the last time I posted so I had to round those up and take pictures.  Then I had to find a couple new projects since I did complete a couple on the list last year.  I also removed a couple and replaced them with other projects that I want to finish this year.

So here at last is the list of my 14 Turtle Trot pieces.  Below the list you will find pictures of each either taken before or on January 9th.  I also have a page dedicated to my Turtle Trot projects.  This is where I will keep the first pictures of the year along with the most current.  This way we can all see how much or how little I have done.  Enjoy & Happy Stitching!!!

  2. the Turtle Trot sounds like a great idea, if only I hadn't already taken on so much this year! Youve got some lovely projects going there.
