What should I really be doing
right now??? Working on scripture squares for Comfort Quilters. I just trimmed
50+ scripture verses that are now waiting for me to press them onto their 4 ½”
squares of Kona cotton. The next step is the one that I really drag my feet
with...zig-zagging around each scripture verse to secure it to the Kona square.
So as I muster up the energy to carry on with ironing and then zig-zagging.
While I am off doing this task,
here is my post and a couple of pictures below, which show what I am working
on. At least the pictures are from past working session and not another attempt
to delay this project. Have a wonderful day and for those of you celebrating
Mardi Gras…Laissez les bons temps rouler
Oh no, now I think I need to
find Mardi Gras type recipes to make for dinner tonight…focus Toni focus!!!
As I was zig-zagging the scriptures onto the 4 ½” squares of Kona cotton, I noticed that the handle of my scissors matched my fingernails. See I told ya I get distracted J
After printing the scriptures onto the fabric, they are
placed in cold water with a solution that sets the ink. Here they are laying out to dry flat. After many attempts no so great results, I
discovered that it makes a big difference on now they are prepared, washed and
dried.
I was working on the binding but this shows some of the
scriptures that are in the body of our Comfort Quilts. This was one of my favorite Comfort
Quilts.
It is so hard to get the right lighting so display our
Comfort Quilts in and be able to get a good picture. This is one of the better pictures I have to show the scripture
squares that I am talking about. There are
28 small squares with scripture in the body of the quilt and one large square
in the middle of the cross.
The Comfort Quilts are for the Comfort Quilter’s Women’s Ministry at my church. We make Comfort Quilts for our church family, who have lost their spouse or have a long-term or serious illness.

Conducting a test :)
