Here in the Pacific Northwest, spring is not far away. The reason I know this is because over he
weekend I started to hear the red-winged black birds that come to sing their
beautiful song that spring will arrive soon.
It was not until this morning that I finally saw one of those wonderful
little birds, so I know spring is right around the corner for us. I feel bad that this is not the case for the
rest of the US, which is experiencing extremely cold weather and huge amounts
of that white fluffy stuff called snow that should grace our yards in December
not February. I tried to catch my
little red-winged friend, but he seems to be on a mission this morning and
keeps flying away or jumping down into the weeds.
Yes, I admit I have weeds from last year still hanging out
on the place but a girl can only keep up with so many of those weeds on these 3
acres. So instead of my little friend I
thought I would share the striking sky just before the sun came over the
horizon this morning. The fog moved in
early this morning and was just pulling back from the neighbors’ alfalfa field
when I snapped this picture. May you
all have a lovely day and spring be around the corner for you, or if you on in
the other hemisphere of the world may your days become cooler to transition you
into the glorious days of fall. By the
way, spring and fall are my two favorite times of the year.
