I had a great start to 2013. One of my friends invited me to Planet Patchworks & Merry
Mayham designs New Year’s Day mystery quilt.
Instructions were given out on an hourly basis starting at 7 AM and
ended at 11 AM.
For the first hour, I was able to keep up with the sewing
instructions, by the third hour Don had gotten up and decided that he wanted to
play games on the computer. He agreed
that he would allow me to print my instructions at the top of each hour so I
would be on pace, which was now about 20 minutes behind. The top of the fourth hour arrived and
passed and no access to the computer so I took a snack and coffee break. I was finally was able to regain access of
the computer close to Noon. Having one
computer is not ideal at all but it always seems that something else takes
higher priority when I find a good deal.
Maybe after the taxes are filed this year.
Anyways, I was determined to finish the quilt top so I kept
working on it with several breaks to do other important things like seeing how
the college bowl games were going. It
amazes me how much more I enjoy college football now when I used to be such a
professional football junkie. Anyways
back to my quilt. I was able to finish
it about 12 hours after starting to sew it.
I had to make one change after miscutting one of my fabrics. Luckily I found some fabric in my stash that
worked nicely. Now the hard part, trying to decide how to longarm quilt it or maybe I should just stitch in the ditch. Oh the decisions of quilting. Happy New Year!!!!
